Day 10 – Show me

Narration here.
Theresa made her biscuits and Gravy which were consumed with mimosas and watching the cat beg for the water facet to be turned on so it could play. See video.

After b-fast Theresa and Kevin returned to the RV to catchup on some to-do list items from the home front and work on the blog some more, however the connectivity was still only with the mifi so not much in the way of pictures could be uploaded. Tiffin (the manufacturer of the RV) was also called to see if there were any recommendations or specifics that should be communicated for the upcoming service visit in KC. The issue with the slide was described to the service technician. It seemed to be a familiar problem so he recommended to check the slide motor's clutch break switch located under the coach inside one of the bay compartments. It was quickly located. The Technician was unsure as to the correct position for the lever but since there were only 2 options his advice was to try one and if that does not work try the other. This seemed promising as the lever was located were Theresa, had been not so carefully, stuffing the lawn chairs and could have easily been tripped into the incorrect position as she was unaware of this obstacle. The outcome of the repositioning would not be known until tomorrow about 100 miles into the days journey. The pit crew was pleased to have the expert advice directly from the RV manufacturer and vowed to use the dial-a-technician help line, (in addition to Ron Clanton of course), for future diagnostics advise.

In the afternoon, Dave and Barb, took us on the grand tour of Neosho, MO which included a photo op with the world's largest flower box, the boiling spring in a city park, America's Oldest Fish hatchery (rainbow trout) and of course a trip to Walmart.

Back at the Parker's Farm, Kevin pulled out the Drone to try his flyover and around. See video.
Then hamburgers made from Parker-grass-fed cows and were put on the grill for dinner. Yikes we had a Parker-Burger! (that is what Dave and his first roommate Bob Ehrenberger were called in College because you always saw them together) Later Barb showed Theresa her latest quilting project. Theresa shared with Barb a small quilt that MaryJean (Theresa's sister) made for her. Theresa will be sure to tell MaryJean (who will be joining the adventure in a few days) how impressive Barb's quilt works were! Truly labor of love and works of art!

It started to rain a bit as Kevin and Theresa headed back to the RV for the night. Tomorrow would be an early rise so that Dave (who had to head into work) can help guide the RV out of it's nesting place, around the front planter and down the tree lined driveway.

Kevin reflected on how fantastic it was to reconnect with his best friend from the college years. Kevin was disappointed that he had let himself become myopic thru those many years since college. Life throws so many curve balls and turns but that is no excuse for loosing touch with individuals who were such a huge part of ones life. Dave Parker was a part of the Smit family. Dave was loved by all the Smit's. Dave was and still is someone who would go out of his way to make a person feel important. He would and still does those things that demonstrate a willingness to help. The catch phrase Kevin's Mother had for Dave Parker was “He would give you the shirt off his back and then ask how he could HELP”. Dave has not changed. What a great Friend for LIFE. Barb was equally warm and welcoming to the Smit's. She and Dave make a great team. There will NOT be this lag in time before the two teams re-unit again.
